A Joyful Riverfront Wedding in Chicago
Yesenia and Josh celebrated their June wedding at River Roast in Chicago, a vibrant riverfront venue that perfectly suited their colorful, high-energy celebration. Drawing inspiration from Yesenia’s Colombian heritage and Josh’s Greek roots, their day blended bold color, meaningful botanical elements, and modern design for a wedding that felt joyful, personal, and unmistakably them.
With the Chicago River as their backdrop and summer light filling the space, the celebration balanced city elegance with lush, garden-inspired florals.
Encanto-Inspired Florals with Mediterranean Touches
The floral design embraced a vibrant, Encanto-inspired palette layered with Mediterranean influences. Bold, saturated hues were softened with olive foliage, creating a thoughtful nod to Josh’s Greek heritage while grounding the brighter colors with texture and movement.
Garden roses, deluxe peonies, spray roses, orchids, and ranunculus formed the foundation of the designs, with subtle tropical accents woven throughout to reflect Yesenia’s Colombian roots. The result was a rich, expressive floral story that felt both celebratory and refined.
The Bride’s Statement Bouquet
Yesenia carried a hand-tied bridal bouquet designed to make a statement. Lush and floral-forward, the bouquet featured layered groupings of oranges, hot pinks, yellows, and peaches for a bold, sculptural look that photographed beautifully against the city backdrop. Fluffy peonies, garden roses, and dahlias kept lent to a more classic vibe while draping orchids and amaranthus added movement and dimension, creating a bouquet that felt both modern and romantic.
Her bridesmaids carried rounded, pared-down versions of Yesenia’s bridal bouquet, incorporating olive foliage and wildflower accents such as coral sweet peas and butterfly carnations for a cohesive yet softened look.
The Groom’s Vibrant Pocket Square
Josh was distinguished with a floral-forward pocket square featuring petite statement blooms from the bridal palette, accented with textural greenery for a modern botanical twist.
Groomsmen wore single statement blooms with coordinating greenery and elegant raw silk wraps for a polished, cohesive look.
Thoughtful Ceremony Details
The ceremony space was elevated with mixed rose petals pre-scattered along the aisle, creating a lush, garden-inspired walkway. Staggered-height statement arrangements featuring 2-3 colors apiece defined the altar area, offering an editorial look while maintaining a bespoke, designer feel.
These floral pieces were intentionally designed for repurposing later in the evening, allowing the ceremony florals to live on throughout the reception.
A Celebration Full of Color, Culture, and Meaning
Yesenia and Josh’s wedding was a vibrant expression of love, heritage, and joyful celebration. By blending bold Colombian-inspired florals with olive greenery and Mediterranean influences, their day felt deeply personal and beautifully layered—perfectly suited to the energy of River Roast and the couple themselves.
Saville Flowers was honored to bring their vision to life with florals that celebrated culture, color, and connection in every thoughtful detail.
