Modesty + Justin | A Playful Garden-Inspired Wedding in Chicago

A Joyful June Wedding in the Heart of Chicago

On June 5, Modesty and Justin celebrated their wedding day with a vibrant, love-filled party that blended modern Chicago architecture with soft, romantic garden florals. Their ceremony took place beneath the iconic People’s Gas Pavilion in Lincoln Park—affectionately known as the “honeycomb”—followed by an intimate, funky reception at Beatnik in downtown Chicago.

The day felt lighthearted and joyful from start to finish, embracing spring color, meaningful floral choices, and a relaxed elegance that felt entirely true to the couple.

A Bridal Bouquet Rooted in Sentiment and Style

Modesty’s bridal bouquet was the heart of the floral story—and the most meaningful element of the day. Designed in a loose, sculptural style, the bouquet featured cascading white phalaenopsis orchids as its focal point, a sentimental nod to her mother’s wedding flowers and a bloom deeply tied to family tradition.

Surrounding the orchids were soft pastels and playful spring hues—blush pinks, peaches, soft oranges, lavenders, and creamy whites—layered with peonies, sweet peas, garden roses, dahlias, delphinium, and textural seasonal blooms. The result was flirty yet refined, garden-inspired yet editorial, and effortlessly romantic as it moved with Modesty throughout the day.

Bridesmaids Florals with a Garden-Party Feel

The bridesmaid carried petite, light, and fluffy bouquet designed as a smaller, softer echo of the bridal arrangement. Featuring the same pastel palette of pinks, peaches, oranges, lavenders, and whites, this mini bouquet felt whimsical and fresh—perfectly aligned with the springtime setting.

Coordinating Boutonniere Flowers

Justin wore a boutonniere designed in corresponding pastel tones, incorporating delicate blooms and soft textures that complemented the bouquets without overpowering them.

Saying “I Do” Beneath the Honeycomb at Lincoln Park Zoo

Set within Lincoln Park, the People’s Gas Pavilion provided a striking architectural backdrop for the ceremony. Its geometric structure offered a modern contrast to the romantic florals, allowing the soft pastel palette and flowing orchids to truly stand out.

Surrounded by greenery and early summer light, Modesty and Justin exchanged vows in a setting that felt uniquely Chicago—urban, iconic, and intimate.

A Stylish Reception at Beatnik

The celebration continued at Beatnik, where the couple’s floral palette translated seamlessly into the restaurant’s warm, eclectic atmosphere. The playful spring colors and garden-inspired textures softened the space, creating an inviting, celebratory environment filled with laughter, conversation, and connection.

A Celebration of Color, Family, and Joy

Modesty and Justin’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that florals can tell a story far beyond color and form. From the cascading white orchids honoring family tradition to the pastel garden blooms celebrating new beginnings, every detail felt intentional and heartfelt.
