Muna + Trevor | A Glamorous, Storybook Wedding at The Library at 190 S LaSalle

A Wedding That Unfolded Like a Story

Muna and Trevor envisioned a wedding that felt immersive and transportive—one that unfolded in chapters, each more breathtaking than the last.

Set inside The Library at 190 S LaSalle in Chicago, their celebration moved seamlessly through the building’s grand spaces: an intimate ceremony beneath the soaring lobby dome, a spirited cocktail hour tucked among towering shelves of books, and a dramatic, candlelit reception in the heart of the library itself.

From the moment guests arrived, the experience felt cinematic. Rich jewel tones, old-world textures, and layered floral vignettes transformed the historic space into something deeply romantic and entirely unforgettable—honoring both the architecture of the library and the cultural heritage woven throughout Muna and Trevor’s story.

The Bride’s Bespoke Bridal Bouquet

Muna carried a one-of-a-kind bridal bouquet designed as a true statement piece. Floral-forward and richly saturated, the bouquet featured blooms in shades of indigo, violet, and burgundy, with an emphasis on deeper purple tones for added drama.

Premium peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, hellebores and lisianthus were layered together for lush texture, while dynamic elements—such as cascading phalaenopsis orchids, dancing clematis and vibrant nandina foliage—introduced movement and a modern, editorial edge. The bouquet was a hand-tied collection of fall’s best, moodiest tones.

A Thoughtfully Curated Wedding Party

Each bridesmaid carried a monochrome bouquet, creating a striking yet cohesive visual story surrounding deep violet, dusty mauve, and rich burgundy. This approach allowed each woman’s bouquet to feel individual while still contributing to the overall design narrative.

Trevor wore a distinguished boutonniere featuring two to three petite blooms pulled directly from Muna’s bouquet palette—a subtle, meaningful echo of her florals. The groomsmen wore coordinated boutonnieres matched to their bridesmaid partners, further reinforcing the intentional, story-driven design.

Two flower girls completed the look with mixed-palette floral crowns featuring petite statement blooms—playful, colorful, and perfectly scaled for the moment.

Unique, Elegant Aisle Arrangements

At the aisle entrance, sculptural floral arrangements in mercury glass and ceramic compotes introduced guests to the couple’s jewel-toned palette while maintaining a refined, editorial feel. Additional floral details—including a dramatic draping floral swag of red panther roses and trailing amaranthus on the welcome sign—added richness and movement, guiding guests into the ceremony space.

A Gorgeous, Rose-Centered Ceremony in the Library Lobby

The wedding ceremony took place beneath the library’s grand domed lobby, where architecture and atmosphere took center stage. To frame the altar, over 150 mixed-height LED floating candles lined the brass and marble bleachers, casting a soft, golden glow that felt almost cathedral-like—romantic, reverent, and cinematic.

A Layered, Candlelit Reception Among the Stacks

For the reception, the library transformed into a glowing, storybook dream. Long grand tables featured layered tablescapes of LED pillar candles paired with repurposed red rose bud vases from the ceremony.

Library books, ribbon-accented bud vases, and subtle wildflower details added texture and personality, enhancing the space’s literary charm. VIP guest tables where friends and family gathered featured repurposed aisle arrangements as eclectic, sculptural centerpieces, layered with candlelight and fresh grapes and pomegranates for an fine art “Dutch masters” feel.

A Showstopping Sweetheart Table

The sweetheart table served as a true focal point, anchored by a lush, meadow-like floral installation that spilled organically from the table’s edge. Behind it, tall floating candles created a glowing backdrop—romantic, intimate, and breathtaking in photographs.

An Unforgettable Celebration of Romance and Story

Muna and Trevor’s wedding was more than a celebration—it was an experience. By blending old-world romance, architectural grandeur, and deeply intentional floral design, their day felt evocative, soulful, and entirely their own.

From the candlelit ceremony beneath the dome to the richly layered reception among the stacks, every detail honored the beauty of storytelling—making this wedding one that will linger in memory long after the final page is turned.
