Lisa + Matt | An Sunset-Inspired Dahlia Vow Renewal at Shore Acres Club in Lake Bluff, Illinois

A Picture-Perfect Vow Renewal

Lisa and Matt celebrated their five-year vow renewal with an intimate, heartfelt gathering at Shore Acres Golf Club in Lake Bluff, Illinois. As a well-known wedding photographer, Lisa approached the day with a thoughtful eye—carefully curating every detail to feel meaningful, beautiful, and timeless. The result was a celebration that felt both deeply personal and effortlessly elegant.

Originally planned as a lawn ceremony overlooking the water, a passing thunderstorm prompted a graceful shift in plans—proving that flexibility, when paired with great design, can still result in something truly stunning.

A Romantic Floral Palette Inspired by a Late-Summer Sunset

The floral design embraced the warmth of late summer with a palette of yellow, peach, blush, and soft pink—echoing the colors of a September sunset. Blooms like dahlias, garden roses, peonies, and ranunculus took center stage, with minimal greenery to allow the flowers themselves to shine.

The overall look felt lush, celebratory, and refined—perfect for a milestone moment like a vow renewal.

The Bride’s Bouquet and Groom’s Boutonniere

Lisa carried a romantic, garden-style bouquet featuring peonies, dahlias, garden roses, and ranunculus. The bouquet felt abundant yet intentional, with soft layers and a warm, glowing color story that photographed beautifully from every angle.

Matt’s boutonniere was equally thoughtful, incorporating nandina, craspedia, ranunculus buds, and dahlia buds. The mix of texture and subtle color offered a modern, botanical complement to Lisa’s bouquet while remaining perfectly scaled for an intimate celebration.

A Showstopping Dahlia and Rose Arch

The focal point of the ceremony was an unforgettable floral arch crafted entirely from dahlias and roses in shades of yellow, pink, and peach. With very little greenery, the arch read as a true floral rainbow—bold, joyful, and radiant.

While the photos were captured on the lawn outside to take advantage of the natural light and scenic backdrop, the ceremony itself took place on the back porch of the Shore Acres clubhouse, where the arch was relocated and framed the couple beautifully as they renewed their vows.

An Ombre Floral Dining Experience

Following the ceremony, guests gathered around a single, exquisitely styled dining table for an intimate meal with family and close friends. Originally designed for outdoor dining, the table was moved indoors to Shore Acres’ classic dining room, where it felt both cozy and elegant.

The table design featured gradient ombre floral arrangements that transitioned seamlessly from one end to the other—moving through sunset tones of peach, blush, pink, and golden yellow. A mix of tall compotes and low, nearly invisible flat vessels created depth and variation while maintaining a cohesive, flowing look. From above and across the table, the florals appeared as one continuous, glowing arrangement—an absolute dream for photography and a stunning visual moment for guests.

An Intimate Celebration to Remember

With no bridal party and a guest list limited to their closest loved ones, Lisa and Matt’s vow renewal was all about connection, intention, and beauty. From the rain-kissed plan change to the floral-forward design, every detail reflected their shared history and the joy of celebrating five years of marriage.

Saville Flowers was honored to create florals for such a meaningful day—one that proved love, beauty, and great design always shine through, no matter the forecast.
