A Colorful Late-Summer Celebration by the Lake
Becca and Wyatt celebrated their September wedding at Independence Grove in Libertyville, Illinois—a breathtaking nature preserve known for its sparkling lakeside views and sweeping open spaces. Their ceremony took place right along the water, framed by lush, colorful florals that perfectly captured the energy and vibrancy of late summer. Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a relaxed and joy-filled reception at the North Bay Pavilion, an intimate open-air venue overlooking the scenic North Bay.
A Bright, Playful Floral Palette
Their floral design was bold, joyful, and unmistakably personal—featuring a kaleidoscope of color that felt effortlessly modern and organic. A mix of poppies, dahlias, delphinium, spray roses, and wildflowers came together in firework-like bursts of texture and movement. The palette balanced bright, saturated hues—terracotta, lime green, peach, sky blue, and creamy ivory—without relying on traditional whites, for a look that was equal parts fresh, floral-forward, and a little bit funky.
The Bride’s Hand-Tied Bouquet and the Groom’s Tropical Boutonniere
Becca carried our signature hand-tied bridal bouquet featuring bright poppies, purple clematis, lime green lisianthus, pink spray roses, peach ranunculus, green amaranthus, feather gerbera daisies, and a variety of late summer wildflowers. The bouquet’s gathered, bouncy shape gave it a fresh-from-the-garden quality—organic, layered, and full of personality.
Wyatt’s boutonniere stood out with petite statement blooms from the bridal palette, including a mini olive anthurium and dusty pink spray rose, finished with subtle wildflower textures for a cohesive, botanical look.
A Whimsical Lakeside Ceremony
Four arrangements framed the couple’s lakeside vows, creating a natural crescent shape that echoed the shoreline. Standing on crisp white pedestals, these artful designs felt like an explosion of late-summer blooms—blue delphinium reaching upward, feathery gerberas adding play, and dahlias and poppies bringing rich seasonal color. The result was a ceremony space alive with texture, movement, and joy.
After the ceremony, the floral installations were thoughtfully repurposed to accent the sweetheart table and cake display—adding continuity and color to the reception setting.
An Eclectic Lakeside Reception
Under the pavilion’s open beams and hanging paper lanterns, the celebration continued with a relaxed, lakeside charm. Each guest table featured a trio of white ceramic bud vases, each holding a single floral variety—delphinium, gerberas, and poppies—creating a cohesive yet delightfully varied look. The simplicity of the bud vases allowed each flower’s character to shine, while clusters of candles tied everything together with warmth and intimacy.
For the cake table, a mix of repurposed ceremony florals and fresh wildflowers provided to the baker created a whimsical finishing touch, perfectly in tune with the couple’s vibrant, nature-inspired vision.
A Joyful Tribute to End-of-Summer Florals
From the lively lakeside ceremony to the open-air reception under the North Bay Pavilion, Becca and Wyatt’s wedding was a celebration of color, creativity, and pure happiness.
The Saville Flowers team was honored to bring their vision to life with playful, one-of-a-kind designs that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of Independence Grove.
