A Thoughtfully Curated Wedding Weekend
Lauren and Chris’s wedding weekend unfolded like a perfectly styled editorial—intentional, relaxed, and effortlessly beautiful. With backgrounds rooted in creativity and design, their celebration focused on meaningful moments, striking florals, and environments that felt collected rather than overproduced.
Spanning two days and two very different settings, their wedding told a layered story: an intimate, gauzy beachside ceremony followed by a vibrant, sculptural celebration at Tied House Chicago. Each moment felt curated yet deeply personal, allowing beauty, emotion, and spontaneity to take center stage.
A Quiet, Neutral-Forward Beachside Ceremony
The weekend began with a small 8:30am ceremony along the Evanston lakefront, shared with close friends and family. Everyone arrived dressed in white, gathering on simple beach chairs as the morning light softened the shoreline.
Lauren carried a bouquet composed entirely of white poppies—clean, graphic, and quietly striking. The singular floral choice felt modern and poetic, perfectly matching the relaxed intimacy of the moment. After the ceremony, guests swam in the lake and gathered in the sauna, leaning fully into the ease and joy of the day.
The beach ceremony set the tone for the weekend: unfussy, emotional, and beautifully unfiltered.
A Modern Floral Vision at Tied House Chicago
The following evening, Lauren and Chris welcomed a larger group of loved ones to Tied House Chicago for cocktails, dinner, and dancing. The floral design leaned editorial and sculptural, designed to feel bold yet refined within the venue’s warm, architectural interior.
A bright summer palette of peaches, pinks, yellows, and soft blue accents was layered throughout the space. The overall approach felt curated and contemporary, balancing statement florals with movement, negative space, and intentional placement.
A Sculptural, Asymmetrical Bridal Bouquet
Lauren carried a contemporary, sculptural bridal bouquet designed to feel bespoke and fashion-forward. Unique tropical elements—including anthurium and phalaenopsis orchids—were layered with softer blooms like garden roses and poppies for contrast.
The bouquet embraced movement and texture, blending modern silhouettes with romantic florals. It felt editorial and expressive, designed to photograph beautifully from every angle while still feeling organic and personal.
Chris wore a traditional pin-on boutonniere featuring a subdued orchid, offering a clean, understated complement to Lauren’s bold bouquet.
Statement Floral Installations & Interior Moments
Inside Tied House, florals were used to create strong visual moments throughout the space. A dramatic fireplace installation served as a true showpiece, featuring cascading bronze and green amaranthus with dancing arabicum adding height and movement above. The result was striking, modern, and undeniably editorial.
Additional floral installations—including a ceramic bar arrangement—helped anchor gathering spaces and guide guests through the evening. Mini meadows and sculptural arrangements were placed strategically near signage, the bar, and key architectural moments to further elevate the experience.
Layered Tablescapes with an Artistic Touch
The tablescape design leaned intentionally mixed-media and artistic. Shorter tables featured elongated, horizontal arrangements of peach garden roses, lavender hydrangea, yellow ranunculus, and draping amaranthus, accented with ribbed votives to enhance warmth and glow.
Longer tables incorporated a whimsical blend of taper candles, bud vases, and ikebana-style arrangements. Dancing ranunculus, sculptural protea, draping orchids, and bending poppies created a sense of movement and spontaneity, while still feeling thoughtfully composed.
When a summer thunderstorm rolled through just before the celebration began, outdoor tables were relocated inside to the adjacent Schubas bar space. The rain only added to the intimacy—deepening the candlelight, softening the mood, and making the evening feel even more magical.
A Celebration That Felt Intimate, Artful, and Alive
Lauren and Chris’s wedding weekend was a celebration of intention, creativity, and atmosphere. From a quiet, all-white ceremony by the lake to a bold, sculptural evening at Tied House Chicago, every floral detail felt curated, photo-worthy, and unique to them.
Saville Flowers was honored to bring this vision to life—designing florals that felt modern yet romantic, expressive yet restrained, and perfectly aligned with a couple who understands that the most beautiful celebrations are the ones that feel both styled and sincere.
