A Charmed Evening Celebrating Chicago’s Wedding Industry Professionals
We were honored when the Wedding Industry Professionals Association (WIPA) of Chicago asked us to design the florals for their big industry soirée! The theme, “Spellbound,” was pure magic from golden hour through dusk. Guests enjoyed tarot card predictions, dangerously delicious treats, inspiring speakers, and stunning cocktail creations. The Library 190, with its rich woodwork, soaring windows, and dramatic wall of books, set the perfect scene for an unforgettable evening.
A Sculptural, Floral-Forward Design
Lately, statement floral pieces have trended towards using less types of flowers and more quantities of the same kind of flower. This creates a chic, editorial look that lets guests appreciate the uniqueness of a particular bloom and offers strategic punches of color that draw focus right where speeches and toasts take place.
For WIPA, we chose a fun, funky mix of purple allium, purple tulips, green anthurium, green hydrangeas, green and copper amaranthus, grey quicksand roses, orange ruffled ranunculus, orange orchids, pink calla lilies, and white gerbera daisies in varying sprays and color-blocked clumps. The result were firework-like bursts of color across the WIPA stage.
A Luxe, Layered Tablescape
Across the long guest table and in the tucked-away side tables, we created asymmetrical centerpieces in a mix of white ceramic compotes accompanied by single-color bud vases in tones of orange, purple, and green.
Prioritizing unconventional flowers and textural greenery, we complimented the linens, menus, and glassware provided by our fellow industry professionals—perfect for an evening that celebrated creativity and artistry.
